Medical School Fees in Malaysia

I love my medical school years! . Despite the ups and downs there are a lot of things I learnt while in Med school.
I studied in International Islamic University Malaysia (Kuantan) Kulliyyah of Medicine Batch 2008. Reminiscing, the cost I have to pay to go to the medical school is very minimal. I got a scholarship from JPA, with a 10 year bonded contract. Upon breaching the contract, I will have to pay a sumptuous amount of RM 250,000. That amount translates to about, USD 80,000. Cheap for a medical school. My clinical years were in Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan, Hospital Temerloh, and Hospital Pekan. We even went to Kg. Bantal, that is deep in the heart of Pahang, near Taman Negara.
A rural training. But not so backwards. Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan, mat not have a Cardiothoracic service yet, but it has a Cardiology Dept at least. Now, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, and Respiratory all are available for specialist consultation. Not bad hey. I know certain medical schools couldn’t even get to see a Cardiologist for their cardiology sessions.
The total cost of my studies is a cheap one. I earned roughly about RM 3500 per month ( RM 40 K/ annual ) and well that’s ok if you live in Kuantan. USD 1000 for medical doctors. Not much but it pays the bill. My smaller brother may earned more than I do now, he works as an engineer in a big GLC.
I research some of the medical school fees in Malaysia. I found this website. Private medical school fees.
To sum up,

2. Monash University Malaysia Campus RM 450, 000 kaching!
3. Penang Medical School RM 500,000 kaching!
4. Melaka Manipal College RM 300,000 kaching!

6. Royal College Medicine Perak RM 278,000

But in the end, all of these graduate will eventually become housemenship. So university have to buck up to produce the best graduates. All knowing graduates.
Now Russian graduates have a very bad reputation in local hospitals. Indonesian grads also having the same notorious attention. So buck up!

I noticed there is a sudden increase in numbers of visit to this page! I wonder what will happen to the Egypt graduates if still the ‘state of emergency’ is not lift up.

I came across your website, thanks to my dad, he himself did a lot of research for me.
I was a sponsored student studying in Russia, up until my third year, until I decided to come home & continue my studies locally, due to my health condition – and I figured it would be very much more comfortable for me receive my treatment here in Malaysia.
Thanks to this post I’m able to explore my options not only in terms of academic excellence, but also economically.
My sponsorship understands my condition and still willing to pay for my tuition fees, since I have no problem in my academic, just maybe I need to sharpen my medical skills due to long absence from the med school.
If I may ask for your opinion, is CUCMS good for furthering my studies? Or perhaps if you have other suggestion, it would be very kind of you to reply to this comment.

I am not the best person to answer this question.But I will try to answer from the past experience.
When I was in Hosp Serdang, CUCMS students had their rotations in my ward. I found that their approach is very hollistic. In one of the student conference, that we held during my students days, CUCMS student have a session where students are able to express their thoughts and ideas of the topics that their discussing. A kind of ‘ reminiscing sessions’. These sessions are conducted for giving out their thoughts, and how they can apply understanding of the topics. So the teaching becomes a dialogue process, instead of a monologue, one way communication. Students have to recall what they have learnt and how they can apply to this new teaching. This is quite interesting because lecturer will get to know their students very well.
Secondly, if I am not mistaken their degree programme in the medical studies is a two part programme. The first part is a degree in basic medical sciences ( pathology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology) and the second part in the clinical medicine ( internal medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics). So if a student wants to end their studies earlier, the first degree is enough to proceed to masters programme in the basic medical sciences.
This is only my personal opinion.

I understand that your son, is already in the medical programme in a Sri Lankan university, and your concern thereof.
I know that Cyberjaya University College (http://www.cybermed.edu.my/cucms-web/new_web/index.html), previously had helped one of my friend who was unable to complete his studies in the UKs due to some personal problems. He had transferred his credits and graduated in Basic medical sciences there. I met this person during my Forensic posting as a junior house officer.
Usually the first 2 years in medical school are the Basic Medical Sciences.( Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Histology, Microbiology, Molecular Medicine, and so forth..)
The next 3 years are more of clinical sciences ( Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obs and Gyane and Orthopaedic, Paediatrics)
So may be you can try the same thing my friend did and requested for a transfer of credit. Usually you will need an academic transcript from the current university and then try to approach the relevant institution.
May be this will help him.

Thanks the interest in studying Medicine in Malaysia. Malaysia as you had already known is a developing country. A lot of opportunities are available in Malaysia. In Malaysia there is a handful of Medical colleges. I graduated from International Islamic University of Malaysia. (MBBS). It is a semi-private university which I think you can apply.
The list of university on top are the private universities. I would suggest you check first with the local government bodies in Nigeria whether the medical schools above are listed in the local and recognized in your country.
Malaysia has her own specific overseas’ medical schools that she recognizes. Usually a local medical council like for example in Malaysia, which are the Malaysian Medical Council and the Public Service Department has a combined record of which universities are listed in as a recognized medical school.
This is important to set the standard of the medical curriculum.

Requirement as follows
Basic Academic Qualification

Three principal passes in the STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia; Advanced Level) examination obtained at one sitting, including General Paper and two of the following papers: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics;
OR
Two principal passes in the STPM obtained at one sitting including General Paper, and two subsidiary passes in two of the following papers: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics;
OR
Three principal passes in the GCE ‘A’ Level examination obtained at one sitting in three of the following papers: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics
OR
Successful completion of any one of the following examination:
Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia Examination (SSABSA); OR
Associate American Degree (AAD)
So i think from Nigeria, you must have A levels. Correct me if I am wrong.

I am a muslim U.S citizen. I earned my BS in Clinical Laboratory Science. I am currently working full, and I am planing to go medical school. The problem I am facing is that if I want to go to medical school in the U.S, I must take loan, close to $1700. I do not want deal with (Ripa) interest because it is haram. I was searching if there is a muslim organization or muslim banks that can lend money to muslim student. However, so far none in the U.S. I am now looking to counteries like Malaysia, Pakistan or India where I really do not know any about these counteries. Br Mohamed, Medical Schools don’t give out loans. I think by law they can’t because they are educations institutions and not financial organizations.

Your question is very specific.
Do Malaysian medical schools lend money to a muslim American student if he wants to study medicine in their school?
FYI, in Malaysia, the medical schools are divided into two – Government medical schools and Private medical schools. For goverment medical schools – I don’t think Universities such as, University of Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia UKM Medical Centre, and Science University Malaysia USM offers any financial aids to students.
But for privately funded medical schools I am still not sure whether they can provide financial assistance. You have to do some research by yourselves – getting to know which university will provide financial assistance. I studied in International Islamic University Malaysia, and I received a scholarship. IIUM however do not provide any study loan as was told to me when I started my studies.
I dont think any of these universities are providing educational loans, because they are registered as a teaching institutions under University Act 1971 . However, It does mentioned that, a loan can be given if approved by Minister, Part I Power of the University –
paragraph — to grant loans or financial assistance to deserving students on such terms
and conditions as may be approved by the Minister;

Another way is to call up Islamic banks in Malaysia, and asked for their loans. In Malaysia the educational loans are mainly provided by a government body that serves the people for loans- PTPTN under the Ministry of Higher Educations Malaysia.

So, basically,no. Medical schools in Malaysian medical school does not provide a study loan. However, if you want an interest free, riba’ free loans then you have to approach Islamic banks to get further infos

Im sure u guys have heard about the situation going on in Egypt. With all the coup d’etat and all. Until now, 12th Sept 2013, Egypt still lies in a state of emergency where people arent allowed to leave their houses from 11pm-6am. Kind of like a curfew thingy.
Ok, talking bout the Malaysian students in Egypt, currently, most of us are back here in Malaysia for summer holidays. And due to the uprising in Egypt, Majlis Keselamatan Negara has made a decision not to allow us to return to our respective universities. At least until the uprising subsides..
Heard about the news that a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education + Embassy of Malaysia in Egypt went to meet up with the Egyptian government n uni’s n finally came to an agreement to delay the starting of our next semester..
It should be on the 3rd week of September but now has been delayed to 19th October 2013..
The MOHE also made some several meetings with the sponsors (JPA, MAIWP, MARA, YP, YT, etc) n one of the decisions was that the MOHE would rather have these students be transferred to local IPTA/S.
But as this decision from MOHE stands, several problems arise.
1. Fees for Medicine studies in Malaysia are waay expensive than Egypt, which is just RM24k/year. A total of just RM150k/head for 6 years studies. Compared to IPTA/S in Malaysia as u mentioned above.
2. Competition for places.
There are 7 main universities which offer medicine in egypt. And each university holds about 500-1500 Malaysian students. Should a transfer be done, how do u expect almost 5000 students to each have a place to study in Malaysia?
3. Some of the IPTS such as IMU are willing to receive students from Egypt but one the conditions was to start from the 1st year again. Even students stdying in the 5th year in egypt would have to start all over again. They wont accept credit transfer bcos not all universities in egypt uses the credit hour system.
Owh cmon, its already hard enough to just study medicine, n now the IPTS wants us to start all over again? Frankly speaking, Im tired of memorizing Staph Aureus.. ==’
But out of all this mess, Malaysian Medical Council expects a win-win situation. So, they told us to just continue in Egypt, but with high alert from the MKN n MOHE..
Would this be enough for just a short explanation from a student studying in Egypt? I hope so.

As you have pointed out, SPM is only one examination before going to college.
If you are still interested in doing medicine, my advice is try to go to a hospital first, and tag first with any of the doctors that you know. To understand medicine first you have to feel and face the challenges as a doctor! Medicine I would point out to you is a very good place and is a noblest of work a person an have.
But you have to consider also the downside of it because medicine requires passion and persistence. But at the end of the day, you would need to do the judgement call whether to do medicine or not. Beside that, you would need a really good heart to become a doctor. It is not about the money!
So my advice!
1. Tag with a doctor- a good doctor first
2. Try to understand the nature of their work
3. Try to understand to possibilities of carrier growth in medicine
4. Try to learn the downside of medicine
5. Try to learn the things that doctors learn.
6. Decide to do medicine or not
7. Always remain positive!

Yes, I’ve “kamceng” with some physician during volunteer activity with MERCY Malaysia medical outreach program in interior of Sabah. I’ve ask them some questions about pursuing career in meds and they do advice me about drawbacks of meds etc.and I’m plan to do foundation study such Australian matriculation or Monash University Foundation Year before entering medicine school. What do you think? I’ve made my mind after considering those advice’s.

For local university usually students will be offered jpa scholarship. Local universities such are IPTA status.
This does not include private universities.
Other alternatives are ptptn, ATM scholarships and private bank study loan.
If you score your spm well you will usually benefit from the jpa scholarship.

You have to ask directly to the Dean of Medicine, whether they are allowing for transfer of credits.
I know for sure that, during the Egypt Hosni Mubarak revolution things, friends were able to transfer their credits to local uni.

I think you should approach the dean of the faculty of medicine in any malaysian medical school first. I have seen a few of my family friend’s sons, who went to private med uni in malaysia. At the time, it was the Egypt revolution, and the malaysian goverment need to take care the safety of our malaysian students overseas, fortunately, they were able to continue pursuing their study in Malaysia.
I dont know about the situation in Rusia and Ukraine though.
But give it a try. Make an appointment and talk to the Dean. Maybe can make some arrangements?

Sadly I didn’t gain admission to the local unis. Egypt seems to be the only hope, yet the political condition & safety there is questionable.

Hi, my suggestion is try to go to local university first. Try to ‘sneak in to local university with a ptptn or JPA scholarship.
Egypt is not your only hope. You have lots of other choices. But you have make your options open.
So basically, there are 2 things
1. Where to study?
2. How to fund your studies?

Hi Anita, I am so sorry for the late reply. I had been very busy managing the wards, and on call for the last few days were quite taxing.
Congratulations to your daughter, on getting the offer from IMU.
I am at no position of telling which University is good or bad. But I do know that, the more exposure the medical student has during their studies, the better they are in working and coping with patients.
True enough, theory is important. But you have to understand that studying and working are two different things.
I studied in International Islamic University (UIA) in Kuantan, Malaysia. My exposure is different from friends who graduated from Ireland, Egypt or Indonesia.
I know this because my sister is studying in Ireland and my other brother is studying in Egypt. And, I have also personally known those graduates from Indonesia.
So you see the exposure is different. The focus on diseases are different and the working environment are different.
I have interviewed almost 100 housemen, and most of them do not know what to expect from working in a government hospital such as in Malaysia.
I have also friends graduated from IMU, whom are doing very excellent in their studies and post graduate studies.
I guess the best tool is to adapt and change accordingly to the system and work her way when she is in the system
UM, UKM and USM are the major three big medical school in Malaysia. They are semi government and is back by our tax monies. They have major post graduate curriculum and, their system is already proven at the level of national and international.
Private Uni such as , IMU , Manipal Medical College, PMC ( my sister got a place in this school) and Cyberjaya Medical school are the private school that are also available in Malaysia which has very good reputations.
I have met those graduates from Egypt, Russia, Indonesia, and grads from UK and Ireland.
I would not blabber about which one is good or bad, because again I am not qualified to do that.

In Malaysia, basically the financial support form the government are 3
1. JPA
2. MARA
3. PTPTN
4. Ministry of Defence (MOD)
other private scholarship are also available,
but I would not delve too much because not many of my friends had the opportunity to get these private scholarships. But I do know that some of them had these ‘private scholarship’
such as Robert Kuok Foundation, Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and etc..
Lastly, FAMA or ‘Father and Mother’ scholarship.
I guess that’s all. The sad thing is not many private scholarships are available.

I’m interested to apply for medicine in Malaysia. I’ve just finished my A-Level and I would like to know which Unis are best in terms of tuition fees, academic and environment? So far, what I’ve got in mind are CUCMS, IIUM, Taylors University, UniKL, AUCMS, AIMST and Lincoln University College. I’m looking for the one that has affordable fees and MBBS certificates that are recognized internationally since I’m intending to work in the UK in the future.
However, if I changed my mind and would like to do housemanship in Malaysia, what’s the requirements to be eligible? FYI I only have O-level/GCSE and A-Level with no SPM because I’ve been living in the UK for 6 years now. My nationality is Malaysian though.
Plus, Can I also ask how to apply for scholarship or any other financial aid for medicine?

I understand that you would like to work in the UK. You see, in the UK they have an exclusive system for themselves.
Medical schools in Malaysia are not recognised in the UK. But it is recognized under WHO – you can check this under Avicenna directory.It is a directory of Medical School in the world and most of the university in Malaysia is recognise under WHO or under the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research
UK has her own special programme called PLAB (Professional and Linguistic Assesement Board) http://www.gmc-uk.org/doctors/plab.asp under the General Medical Council.
Let say if I want to work in the UK, I need to take this test first. The PLAB.
But those graduated from the UK, can almost work everywhere. This is where it matters to get your Bachelor’s degree.

General Medical Council ( GMC) regulates all the doctors who wishes to work in the UK. Doctor have to register under GMC and there is a specific GMC no.
Likewise in Malaysia, we have the Malaysia Medical Council (MMC) no. It is like a register of all the doctors who are qualified to work in Malaysia.
Apart from that in the UK, you will need a License to Practice. Similarly in Malaysia, we have the APC or Annual Practising License which is signed by the Director General allowing you to practice here.

But exceptions to certain UK universities, such as Newcastle University of Medicine in Nusajaya (http://www.ncl.ac.uk/numed/) and I think there is a conjoint system with Royal College of Physician. (http://www.ncl.ac.uk/numed/study/undergraduate/mbbs/programme.htm)
Taylors University, I have not met yet those graduate from Taylors Unversity. But I do know that their programme is an International programme.
Other Bachelor’s degree in Malaysia, are from University of Nottingham in Malaysia, but I do not know whether they have a medical programme in Malaysia- I don t think they have.
And in the UK, if you look under the PLAB/ GMC requirement those who are from EC are not required to take the test.

There are other pathway to work in the UKs as a Doctor, but I will not discussed in here in the open.
If you change your mind and let say if you want to work in Malaysia, all the university listed are recognized in Malaysia. WIth O-Level/GCSE and A-Level you can study anywhere in Malaysia.
But I would suggest for you to continue your studies in UK.
My sister got a scholarship under JPA to study in Ireland. And her Bachelor Degree is recognised in the UK and Malaysia. She had just passed the final under the PMC-RCPI programme. So I guess you can choose this university if you want to work in the UK or Malaysia or what they called, Licentiate ( http://www.thesundaily.my/news/1109655)
In terms of financial aid, not many would offer Scholarship to study medicne.

3. MARA
If you have gain admission into a UK university I think they will be no problem to apply for MARA scholarship.

It had been a very busy week for me in Hosp Kajang.
In Medicine – there are many subspecialites,
Medicine is “the big trunk” of knowledge tree then you have the main branches-
Basic Medical sciences -anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology pharmacology, immunology, virology, parasitology and so on…
Then you have another branch which is the applied medicine, e.g are- internal medicine, surgery, obstetric and gyanaecology, orthopaedics and so on..
Under internal medicine, you have – cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, diabetology, nephorology and haematology and on and on..
Under paeds, you have – all the paeds subspecialities..
All and all.. to be a good Housemenship you need to know a little bit of that, a little of this and, indepth of certain topics and some topics that you might need to know only. That is the tricky part.
I guess in Dentistry, the general picture is similar like Medicine.
So you see the knowledge is very very expansive.
But that you really need to ask a practicing dentist to answer your doubts.
But all and all, remain positive.

Thanks for the insight…you see I have completed my diploma recently…with a cgpa of 3.5 above in science…but, my main concern is generally about how to cope, how to study, would I have time to socialize,and would I have a life after all,as people would say, doctors have got no life…those are my main concern..I don’t plan to fail you see…
that means be it dentistry or medicine, is the field of study pretty much the same?

Congrats to your daughter, and all he hardwork paid off.
Actually from my experience you can see the Dean to request for a appeal of changing from the Sains Hayat to Medicine. A lot of my friends did that during my studies. The matriculation in UIA is 2 years then she will go to Kuantan, usually that the way.
But she can also enrolled into the Kulliyyah of Medicine, directly from private colleges using A levels

Studying medicine local is the best. Because then you will know the setting, the learning syllabus, and the local variant of the disease.

HI there Dr. Khairul,
I have got a younger brother who sat for his Matriculation and scored a 4 Flat for the first semester and currently waiting for his second semester result.
He applied for Local IPTA through UPU and got selected to three uni’s for interviews ( UKM, UMS , UNIMAS)
However due to his average result in SPM I’m not so confident on him getting an admission in any of the above stated universities.
Well lets say he doesn’t get it, so then a few queries if you could help me out with
1) I was told its better studying in a local IPTS rather than overseas. Just want verification on this ?

For question no. 1
1) I was told its better studying in a local IPTS rather than overseas. Just want verification on this ?
This is a difficult question to answer.
Certain local IPTS are good, and I have no qualms about it, and at the same time, certain overseas IPTS are also good.
But which one is a better choice, I would not expose this in this blog because of reputations of the university, and at the expense of doctors graduating from these universities.
After all, I am not a qualified person to comment, this university is good or not.

To get into the local IPTA to medicine is very difficult because of the requirements.
I prefer to answer this in personal communications.

You see, ethically it is wrong for me to downgrade or be preferential to any medical schools. I prefer to be on a neutral side and let those people who do the accrediting, credentialing, and assessing, do their job.
If I have a younger brother who would like to study medicine, I would ask him to study in IMU, PMC, Manipal, why? because I have work with colleagues that had graduated from these universities.
You see, the quality of the graduates especially being a doctor is not only depending on the university’s teaching, or external environement, I quote what my Prof said, ” To be a doctor, first you need to be a good person.” – Prof Naznin, it is both internal qualities that will make or break a doctor.
There is no hard and fast rule.
You may want to read on Dr Pagavalan’s Avalan, he has his own view on medical schools, education, his rants and ideas, and so forth.

The programme in Kuliyyah of Medicine was a full 5 year course. Everything was on local setting, the learning, the environment, the headaches, and so on.
The teachings of both, theory and clinical bedside teaching, is done in local hospitals and clinics.
For elective postings, some of us went to Institut Jantung Negara, University Malaya, Overseas universities joining other univeristies programmes, joining specialized post graduates posting, or remedial which means some of us had to resit the exams which we had failed previously.
I would say that, we were still having lesser international exposure as compared to most of our collegues in the UKs, Australia and US, or those doing twinning programme.
Twinning basically provides that edge, of having been in ‘that’ university. Being taught, or lectured by ‘that’ Prof. So yes, it is an advantage.
Some of my friends who have graduated from overseas university, have both registered with General Medical Council (GMC) of the UKs, and locally, Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) so they are at the most advantage position. They can work in both setting, locally and abroad.

I had received my Bsc in biology back in year 2011 in the US with a cgpa of 3.95. Prior to that, I was enrolled in IB program. Im currently working with a company in Malaysia. Now Ive decided to go to a medical school in Malaysia. My question is, after 4 years of leaving my undergraduate school (im currently 28 years old), will I be able to apply to public medical school in Malaysia which is usually done through UPU? I have been very busy lately. Sorry.
It is good that you have decided to join the medical healthcare services. Well, if you push hard you can get through to any private medical universities and shouldnt be of any problem.
But to join the public medical univerisity, this is very hard. The placing in the medical school is very limited.
So if you want to join, private medical school is an avenue and oppurtunity to get into.
But most importantly, you must know what you will go through. Because being a doctor does not end with graduating at medical school, it goes a long way into the housemanship, medical officer compulsory services and so on.
But hey, always take thing as a challenge.

Assalamualaikum doctor,i just want to know is it russian graduates still not adaptive and not good enough?There are people who criticize russian graduate as well as indonesia and egypt but some of the blogs i went through,they didn’t.In fact they claim to say that russian/egypt/indonesia graduates is getting better now and all of the medical school is actually good.I honestly need your opinion cause i’m so confuse and what do you think of volgograd state medical university in russia?i really hope that you can reply.Thank you so much doctor 🙂

I think your question is
1) Do russian medical graduates have poor coping skill adapting to local Malaysian hospital setting?
You have to look at this question in many angles. I have friends who have MRCP part 1 and part 2 graduated from Volvograd university and now pursuing PACES to complete their membership exam.
But at the same time, there are those ‘bad apples’ in the system. So yeah!

For your information, I am not affiliated with any of the medical school organisation.
In terms of scholarship, my personal opinion is that, most private universities do not have a full scholarship allowance.
There are certain requirement for students to apply for scholarship especially of a medical school scholarship rightfully MBBS or MD.
I know there are certain private medical schools are funding minimal amount of the students study fees but that is also limited.
The allocation is very limited and usually is given to a citizen of Malaysia.

Again, I am not ‘the’ qualified person to say which university is the best.
Between Monash and MAHSA, MAHSA is a local private uni. The studies are fully conducted in Malaysia.

The clinical years, 3rd year and beyond is conducted in Hospital Kuala Lumpur. And, you will get the feel of local medical students grads in MAHSA. It is not that bad. But you will get to know everyone, and knowing everyone who’s who in the medical fraternity.
So year everything is ” Malaysianised’.
I have a friend also from Monash University, And mind you the degree that you will be conferred is from an established University, a Monash Australian Degree.

Some of my friends were able to study in Australia for elective postings there, and it is a good international exposure to be able to do elective in overseas.
“Internship places in Victoria are guaranteed only for Australian citizens and permanent residents who have completed their medical degree in Victoria. Australian citizens and permanent residents who completed their medicine degree outside Victoria (including Monash University Malaysia campus) will find it very difficult to obtain internships in Victoria. Non-Malaysian citizens will not be eligible for internships in Malaysia.”
But to work there, I don’t think they will allow.
So I guess, it is still up to you, where do you want to work.
If you planning to work in Malaysia, then any local private uni will accept.
But if you plan to work overseas, it is a good idea to study abroad, and then come and work in Malaysia

Masha stars now after 1 month from now , also my brother studying there medicine becasuse he was not accepted in Monash, as result he chose Masha
so now i have no idea which one to choose , should i wait for Monash or just go Masha

It is good to know that you will have a good and stable career in the Arab world.
Like i have mentioned before, the system of learning may be different. These are the little differences in the University, but the core subjects will be the same.
The acceptance, recognition, alumnus, and networks of people you know will also be different, as these are important for your carrier breakthroughs.
Whether, you want to wait for Monash, or Masha, this is a decision that only you will know the consequences.

Hi..good website.. but dear fellow doctor..you can’t just label Russian grads are not doing well.. I am one of the 1st batch to come out of a recognised university from Russia..and I am doing well in my own private GP setting. Not only me.. but I know so many grads from Crimea ukrine and Russian universities thats doing very well. Many are also specialist now.
Its the current students and their mentality. Everything seems to easy now days.. sponsors after sponsors for them..to the point they failed to understand why they went to Russia & Indonesia.
Not to blame the universities.. they are teaching well..if students dont attend classes ..this is what we get at the end.
Maybe another research should be done on Russian & Indonesian universities and compare the foreign students and their outcomes..to see if its only our Malaysian students thats not doing well.. or others aswell.
Hope you dont get me wrong.. but not all foreign grads are bad. We are very much hands on than the local grads.

My question is that as per the requirements, we need to get a govt scholarship which is mentioned as “Applicant’s Undertaking or Sponsorship Letter from the Government (for MBBS, Dentistry & Pharmacy applicants”
We do not have the sponsorship letter from the govt. but we can pay the fees. Can you tell us on how to proceed ?

1. I dont think you will need the sponsorship letter because you can do direct payment to the university. I have friends who were paying directly to the university for the tuition fees and all.
2. If you want to look for an Islamic environment university, I for once can only recommend IIUM other university I can not recommend.
