What creates a good business?

I have read a lot of business reviews. Different business plans, different start ups and different ideas.

But what creates a good business? Idea? Products? Delivery? Networks? Hype-marketing? For Malaysian, may be having a network ‘good cables’ with ministries and royalties. Of course, we should be transparent in everything. But some people want to earn quick bucks, but can they sustained? The answer is definitely No!

We as a Malaysian should see the world as our stage for business. There is no more Kg. Baru market only, Kg. this and that, the internet is our stage for business. But what creates a good internet business?

I have noticed several ideas which should be implemented in the internet business.

It is true enough, hype is the main marketing technique but, what creates a good internet business is in the VALUE of the business.

1. Politically incorrect blogosphere

Our local blogosphers is politically based. We are fuel by anger by the next person who is a different party based. The Barisan National and Pakatan Rakyat. These are the to main obstacle and impedance to a healthy e-commerce, not biased, and well developed business. A good e-commerce internet atmosphere should not be political. It should be apolitics. Our blogosphere is continuously flooded with rumors and anger towards the leadership in the country. Hatred does not create wealth, but instead we are creating an unfavorable atmosphere of the e-business world. Our blogs should be focusing on business and not politics. Politics can be a good thing, but most of the time it doesn’t create a healthy e-commerce networks.

2. Value added services

Our e-business should be available to meet the demand of the users plus extra value added created. Value added in the cyberworld means, i.e using a credit card with an ease of mind, (ebays uses service from paypal). There are 230 millions users of paypal in the internet and active internet paypal users are about, 100 millions. How do they attract internet users, they attract them but assuring, their credit cards numbers are kept secret. Despite the service, Paypal reassured or guaranteed users not to be cheated by using their system. These are value added services. Paypal had undergone major shift in their business model to create a globally accepted mechanism of transferring, sending, and receiving money. They have created such a big oppurtinity to the whole world. Other examples of this method, is the prominent or should I say Father of Apple Inc. Steve Jobs. He created a business model which is bulletproof to the recessions. Nothing much I can say!

3. A sustainable business model that will work. This is the most toughest part of the business plan. To get the right model, which means able to meet the demand and fits to the business needs.

4. A sustainable should not only able to provide food, shelter and wearable. But it should be able to create brands, likes and wants, side business to expand the consumer reach.

5. A good internet business model is able to communicate among the users and sellers. In promp tu response with manifest as efficiency of service in a very -well planned working  environment. There must be some sort of a personal touch. This will created trust.

6. An internet business must be able to convert traffics to purchasing power. These are the value of the business. Any additions?

  1. Greetings Khairul-o-rama,
Well, according to Leo Babauta, and I agree, it’s working at helping your customers, giving quality, and caring about those customers. These days, it’s having relationships that work, much more than hype. I think we’re all tired of hype. If we help them, they help us.
